Financial Literacy for Area Schools

UnitedOne Credit Union works with local educators and leaders to find ways to support financial literacy in our community schools.

Our partnership with the Manitowoc Public School District (MPSD), dates back to the opening of our first school branch at Monroe Elementary in 1996.

Now in eight, MPSD schools, elementary and middle school student-staff members gain real-world experience operating and marketing their school's credit union branch. At the high school level, student-staff members bolster their employment skills in partnership with local Youth Apprenticeship (YA) programming - see details below!

UnitedOne School Branches

Our student-led branches are open to students and school staff members who can help support the learning experience by making simple deposits and/or withdrawals from their UnitedOne account.

Student-staff members are excited to serve you and are trained to conduct your transactions in a confidential and professional manner. Thank you for your support!

Youth Apprenticeship

UnitedOne partners with local high schools to provide real-world career experiences for juniors and seniors. Students work part-time at our local branches learning valuable life skills like the job application process, interviewing, teamwork, training, time management, responsibility, accountability, and confidentiality.

Many students have turned their Youth Apprenticeship experiences into lifelong careers, as some of our former YA's have been with us for over 25 years!

Scholarships

Each year, UnitedOne offers one scholarship to a Manitowoc County resident member and one to a Sheboygan County resident member. Applications are available during the Spring of each year and are open to both high school seniors and those continuing their college education.
